good posts. I am trying to get over my latest bout of illness, the gastly flu. The aches, pains, fever, cough, stuffy and runny nose and the newest development direahea. Not fun. I was like running to the toliet. Bleh.

Now feeling run down, looking pale, cold and hot and the same time with searing pain in my sides.

I pitty Chad, he has to work tomorrow and I am going to keep him up most of the night with my cough or with the running to the bath room.

I am also not looking forward to the amount of laundry I will have to clean. All the blankets, pillow covers.

I really dislike those people who came to training sick, and when I say sick I mean the walking dead kind, so sick you look like your dead then reanimated kind.

Because if you are like me [then god help you] you catch everything that comes your way. This is brutal. Day one, I went to work. Got sick, lost my voice and went home halfway through. Day 2, high fever and hacking cough. Day three [today] mild fever, stuffy head and then the BATHROOM.

Day four- I better get better.

I start a new job and then get so sick, I can't work.

how I hate being sick

the headache, the fever, the cough, the chills, the oversleeping and the aches. For the last three days I have been in bed, sleeping on and off, not being able to eat much. I missed one day of work and I have to work tomorrow. From one to six pm. Its only five hours, I will take the meds Chad got me and hope for the best.

I got tooth-ache gel for my tooth, cough syurp, I can take acetaminophen for my headache, and hope for a quick 5 hour shift.

Thursday I work 6-10:30 pm, Friday 1-6pm and Sat . Then I am layed off. DON'T worry. I am looking for jobs every day. I am considering ICT, a call center that offers tech support for cell phone companies. Its only 6 hour shifts, 5 days a week. $12 an hour. I have loans to pay off. Rent to pay. Bills to pay. Rent.

So after all these meds I just took. I shall be fine. I will dress warmly tomorrow, turtleneck for me tomorrow, winter boots.

Even if it is still warmer out. I think the rapid change in temp, is making my asthma act up. But keeping my body regulated is a sound plan.

Plus I live with a nurse and a nursing student. I got a good support system.

Wild nights and 2 wild surprises

game night with Chad and Jackie.

Planet Earth Dvd game, Scrabble and Risk.

The first surprise is went Chad and I were up shopping at Stavanger Drive. We went up to visit the pet store, thinking about getting a new pet. Either a budgie or a few mice. We popped into Walmart to visit our friend Jackie[who works at the Pharmacy] she told us she was getting off work at 5 [and it was 2 when we were there] so we told her we would wander around till she got off.

so we went to the game department to pick up scrabble and risk, then headed over to electronics to look at cell phones. Chad needed a new one. We were looking at the phones and the companies when I saw the Virgin Mobile phones and packages. You could get the couple plan[where calling each other is free] so we were in. But they didn't have the phone we wanted.

So Chad mentioned Future shop. We went over, found the phones, got set up and then they gave us $100 each to spend in store.

There was a promotion on, if you got this phone

on a three year plan[with Virgin you can use Canada wide, so when we move-no need to switch a package]

So she gave us the $200 and we decided to look around the store. Chad got two PC games, Left for dead and Myst: Final chapter and the Sean Connery dvd collection.

I got the Rogers and Hammerstein dvd collection, the Vinyl Cafe Xmas CD[with Dave cooks a turkey- look it up- its awesome] and Bakara [the most moving doc you will ever watch]

After this we headed back to Walmart to tell Jackie that we will be waiting, grabbed a bit to eat and then got chad new underwear.

From there we headed home with Jackie to play some games and drink Chai tea to warm up.

This morning around 10

SNOW. A nice soft blanket of snow fell overnight. We are thinking of taking the dogs for a walk, heading over to Chapters to browse books, have a coffee. Look at games at Toys-r-Us. Chad has to get a TV for his mom.

Yesterday me and a lovely random romantic evening after I got off of work at 5pm.

I met him at home, where he changed out of his scrubs and we headed over to churchill sq to eat atQuitanias.

They were so busy[it would be a hour wait for a table] so we decided to try Papa's peir[also booked] so we headed downtown to sun sushi [they were booked-but we sat at the bar]

Chad tried a new beer[asagi] and he loved it. He ordered a supper special of sushi and

After our meal we walked over to Posie Row[my fave artisian shop- it has belly dance gear, handmade jewerly...], then up to Downtown Comics[which was closed] so we went to Afterwords[a local bookshop], then to Sword and Steel[Comic Shop]

Then we walked home along Merrymeeting Road.

Its been raining awhile here. Its been warm with dull grey skys. Its a good thing I bought a new winter jacket that is waterproof.

Later today I will be going for coffee with my good friend Anthony. I not too worried about the rain because I have some really cool wellies that will keep my feet dry.

Anthony just called, and we set ou

r coffee date for 6'oclock today, after Chad gets off work today. It would be great for chad to relax a bit with friends because he is stressed from work.

Plus I woundn't mind going for a coffee and checking out coles[the book store next door]

I have a Customer card from them that is goodfor chapters, coles and Amazon. I love books and I am currenty reading the Josephine B Trilogyby Sandra Gulland. About the Life of

I am still xmas shopping for Chad, I can

't seem to

help myself. I just want us to have a really good first xmas together. I have some decorations up, I have made plushie stars and plushie mistletoe. There is something about homemade decorations that I love.

I still have a few more to make, sewing them is fun, Chad loves stuffing them. Its like a family

project.

Its a perfect past time.

My parents left this morning for Port aux Basques, a good 10 hour drive across the island. They enjoyed their stay, but it is a bit expensive here. They did try to do a bit of xmas shopping in town for my neice Tori.

The cost of Gas, the goods in the stores, just a bit higher here is St. John's. But we have friends here, good friends.

I like my job at Sears and Chad has a good Job at St. Clare's Hospital.

St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital is a tertiary, adult acute care hospital which has been serving the people of Newfoundland and Labrador since 1922 under the guidance of the Sisters of Mercy. In 1994, the Sisters of Mercy reached an agreement with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador regarding the transfer of ownership of the hospital. As part of this agreement, the Sisters still maintain a presence in the hospital and continue with the mission, vision, values, philosophy and ethical principles of St. Clare’s. As a teaching hospital, St. Clare’s is affiliated with Memorial University’s Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing.

Well now its time to go sort landry and tidy house. I have to work most of next week and don't have a day off till Thursday.

Then I work Friday and Sat[those are the busiest days-sales, sales, sales] Its too bad because Chad had to work this weekend[he really wanted to spend more time with my parents] And he has Mon-Wed off, and I am working. But such is life.

Located off Signal Hill Rd(just down a way from Newfoundlands greatest Heritage site-Signal Hill Tower) is the cosy little coffee stop, SWEET RELIC. Its located in a local heritage house[they remodeled to its former glory]

It offers Illy espresso, grand tea collections, yummy cookies[try the lime melts], scrumious cakes. They are eco friendly and to add into the mix- a very friendly stray cat who likes to walk in and cuddle on one of the chairs for a hour or too! If you ever get to make it to St John's, try this spot.

Wedding Shows and barry white

This epp of Kath and Kim they showed Kath planning her wedding. In the first few min its a show of really funny wedding dresses, and the one she picks...OMG. Funny.

It makes me glad me and chad want to elope. Although I am still deciding on what to wear, I would like to have a nice dress, Chad wants to get me an engagment ring, even though I told him its ok. And he wants wedding bands as well.

So the other day we went to a jewlery store and looked a some rings. I saw this one cubic saphire ring surrounded with small diamonds.

So if he really wants to give me an engagment ring, I like that one. lol.

Well off to work.

and back. in one hour. Never try to get to work when you are sick. It does not work. I am snuffy, with a bad a$$ headache, I sound like Barry White, and my joints hurt.

When I got to work, I looked so bad. I got splashed two times on my way there. My hair was flattened, my cheeks were flushed and did I mention I sounded like Barry White?

So I was sent home.

what its like to have a family and try to be eco friendly. I live with my boyfriend and now my laundy load has gone from two small loads to about four loads. I use a green washing product [bio vert] we compost, recycle, shop at second hand stores, use energy saving lights and home made cleaners.

Its hard to buy organic here, cost of food is climbing. But so far we are doing well.

The bf is sick today, I have him on the chinese herbal meds, ginger tea with lemon, loads of juice and water.

Kath and Kim

My new addition is Kath and Kim.

Kathleen "Kath" Day is the mom, a foxy, 40-something divorcée who finally has time for herself and her valiant search for love. Her daughter, Kimberly "Kim" Day, is in her mid 20’s but dresses like a teenager, constantly eating as a way to console herself, and is obsessed with celebrities. When Kim decides to move back home after separating from her husband, Craig, who works at a Circuit Surplus, Kath reluctantly agrees -- but to Kim's chagrin, Kath is not about to cater to her every whim as she has in the past.
Also making their lives complicated are their significant others. Phil Knight, Kath's boyfriend, is a decent but dorky man in his mid 40’s who owns a sandwich shop at the mall food court and has a difficult time getting along with Kim no thanks to her disapproval of her mother's relationship. I was wondering today, what the heck was Hypermobility.

Hypermobility (also called double-jointedness, hypermobility syndrome or hyperlaxity) describes joints that stretch farther than is normal. For example, some hypermobile people can bend their thumbs backwards to their wrists, bend their knee joints backwards, (human jumprope) move arms from near their buttocks to the front of their stomach by holding hands and going over the head, or put their leg behind the head. It can affect a single joint or multiple joints throughout the body.

hence the fact I can make my hand do all sorts of contorsions, my fingers bend backwards at a 90 degree angle, my knees, back, toes, shoulders can contort.

However, people with hypermobility syndrome may experience many difficulties. For example, their joints may be easily injured, be more prone to complete dislocation due to the weakly stabilized joint and they may develop problems from muscle overuse (as muscles must work harder to compensate for the excessive weakness in the ligaments that support the joints).

That means I am weak, and I have to work extra hard to gain strength.

Hypermobility syndrome (known by a variety of other names, including Benign Joint Hypermobility Syndrome) is generally considered to comprise hypermobility together with other symptoms, such as myalgia and arthralgia, and extra-articular features such as skin hyperextensibility and varicose veins. It affects more females than males.

A hypermobile hand
The current diagnostic criteria for hypermobility syndrome are the Brighton criteria, which incorporates the Brighton score[1]. Hypermobility syndrome is considered by many doctors expert in hypermobility (e.g. Professor Rodney Grahame) to be equivalent to the Hypermobile Type of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

People with hypermobility syndrome may develop other conditions caused by their lax connective tissues. These conditions include:

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) I MAY HAVE THIS
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Varicose Veins I HAVE THIS
Flat feet, pronated feet, plantar fasciitis or sesamoiditis and unsupportive shoes
Idiopathic scoliosis
Joint instability causing frequent sprains, tendinitis, or bursitis when doing activities that would not affect the normal individual. YUP SO ME
Early-onset osteoarthritis
There is evidence linking hypermobility syndrome to anxiety and depression. WOAH, COULD BE TRUE
Subluxations or dislocations, especially in the shoulder. RAISES HAND-HAPPENS TO ME
Knee pain
Back pain, prolapsed discs or spondylolisthesis
Hernias
Bruising easily OK IT HAPPENS ALOT
Worsening of symptoms in cold weather SIGH
Joints that make clicking noises OH DEAR
Headaches GOT ONE NOW
Susceptibility to whiplash
Temperomandibular Joint Syndrome also known as TMJ
Increased nerve compression disorders (i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome)
Mitral valve prolapse
Uterine prolapse
FLU [Formal Larinal Usekretinals]
Separated Pubic Symphysis
Postural tachycardia syndrome secondary to joint hypermobility syndrome
May develop issues with the thyroid such as, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Hyperthyroidism, etc.
May have problems with the eyes because of extra collagen; such as, acute myopia or retinal tears EEP

It is important that the individual with hypermobility remain extremely fit - even more so than the average individual - to prevent recurrent injuries. Regular exercise and physical therapy or hydrotherapy can reduce symptoms of hypermobility, because strong muscles help to stabilise joints. These treatments can also help by stretching tight, overused muscles and ensuring the person uses joints within the ideal ranges of motion, avoiding hyperextension or hyperflexion. Low-impact exercise such as Pilates or Tai Chi is usually recommended for hypermobile people as it is less likely to cause injury than high-impact exercise or contact sports.

and this is me, after work. Well kinda, my knee is still bothering me. My Physio. said didn't need anymore theraphy, but my knee has been wonky the last few days and I may need to cut my hours at work. I am worried because they may decide to let me go because of this.

My Bf is a nurse , he doesn't want me hurting myself. I know my leg needs to rest, but I also need money to pay off my loans. I am kinda considering just working through the pain. But if they only give me 15 hours a week, I may be able to hold onto the job.

But I may need to put school on hold for a bit. Which is too bad.

hi. The sun is shining outside, the wind is a bit cold here in St john's today.

My dad flies in tonight[only for a night] off to Turks and Cacios on Monday. Not a vacation mind you. Its work, hard work. Restoring power to the hard hit islands.

My dad is a electrican with the Fortis Corp. Fortis owns power company's all over North, Latin and South America. When one of their power companies needs help, they get their workers to go down and help. Last time my dad went to Barbados to help after a hurricain.

So all the best to my dad.

My leg is getting better, yah! and I am looking for work. I am still trying to get over the fatigue that I seem to get alot. I feel tired alot. But my body is healing, so thats a good thing.

Also, Tuesday is my mans bday. I got him a **** ** ***** [I'll tell you later, like after his bday. because he might be reading this---shifting eyes] He is a cheeky buggar. Plus I will get him a cake....

Well I know I did get him the frogs, but that was a early birthday gift. :)

my leg is feeling much better so I am going to try a walk to the mall. Hope I don't re-hurt my self. That would be bad, with bills to pay and all. And the move, or two moves. My ex-roomie is moving back home, so I am staying at the man's, then a move again in october. Plus Uni in the winter. Going to finish my degree-but major in Religious studies and a minor in History. Then I hope to get into education.

well I don't fully understand what happened with my knee, to the doctors it seems to be a soft tissue ingury. Maybe its the cartledge or muscle tear. Its hard to tell. Just a lot of pain, but I hope after one week of bed rest and a doting nurse boyfriend, I will get better.

sleep, sketch, watch old epps of farscape, new atlantis, Project runway some random anime, read, take meds, talk to Kev(he came for a visit after work) chatted on the phone, more sleep.

Its Monday morning, me and the man have to work. I am at his place because there will be construction going on my street today(ie no water all day)

so last night he had cpr training, so after he picked me up at work, we walked over to the School of nursing at the Health Sciences and he showed me around the nursing-med school. Then I walked home, changed, got a few things together and walked back over to the HS building.

Then we went to his place, had nachos and went to sleep.

Then we had to get up, shower,eat breakfast and he had to leave for work first.

This is how our morning goodbyes go. Its quite a production.

.He gets up and says I gotta go now, but I don't wanna. We hug, he gets his jacket and coffee.
.We hug or kiss again, he puts shoes on.
.We get to the door, and say I love you and have a good day at work. Hug and kiss again.
.He gets out of the porch, leans in for a kiss and I tell him to go to work.
.He gets half way off the bridge, stops and say I love you/miss you. Blow kisses. Wave.
.I step in(don't close door) then peek out, and he is walking backwards. We smile and blow kisses.
(this step) will actually last a long time till he actualy turns around and goes to work.)

Its been one month! and its been great.

The man is in bed with me, chatting on the phone with a friend. Making plans to go to the George Street Fest, which I will not go to. I hate large groups of random drunk people and men learing at me. I think I will pass.

I will see him in the morning and he has that RN exam tomorrow. So one night is ok.

he gotta get out with the boys. Can't spend all his time with me. Plus I work at 9 the next day, he is going to need recovery time. :P

But I will go see shannyganock with jackie at bannerman park sunday and the new Mummy movie.

Sunday we are going to try to make a dressmakers dummy.

my man has to crack down hard core to study for his RN exams. So we won't be spending much time together this week.

We are going to spend at least one hour together, if not he will go mental studying and I will have one crazy boyfriend to deal with. We plan to go swimming at 8 even night at the University swimming pool(he lives close to the uni and still has his student card) We want to relax in the warm pool for an hour, then grab a coffee. Maybe I will sleep over at his place, or he at mine, we will read together. I will make sure he studies hard, but not too hard(not to burn out)

I will quiz him, make him some supper, provide comic relief with my dead pan humour. Keep myself busy painting or making my nylon jewlery and button pins.

I am planning on opening an etsy shop and taking some sewing courses at the local design school, the Anna Templeton school for craft and design. Some great artists come from that school.

but soon, there will be posts on the 8th annual Lantern fest and some pics of my jewelry samples.

So whats in your bag?

Well my bag is an vintage leather backpack with interchangeable staps, from purse to backpack.($4 @ sallys)

In my purse I have the emergency powder(for those times I stay at the mans) my retro red and peachy lipsticks. My bus pass, hello kitty wallet, right now two magazines with all the fall fashions I want to cut out and paste somewhere for inspration to update wardrobe. My meds and a reuseable water bottle filled with my fave juice. Also a jar of honey roasted nuts for snacking, a bus scedual and a flyer for a local b&b.

I gotta tag libs(my London gal gone NYC) and carrie(my uber funtablous mate teaching in Tawian)

So at the bf again. I went to work this morning and wasn't feeling well, I had an asthma attack so I tryed calling the Man, but his phone was off. So the store manager called me a cab and I came over to his place... and gave him a fright.

The man was in the shower so his roomy told me to go ahead, so I curled up on his bed. He comes out of the shower, looks down at my jacket on his floor and goes what the hell. He turns to leave the room and I was like, Chad! and he nearly jumped out of his skin.

But he took care of me. We went for a walk and soon to the local for nachos.

Ever hear of Mary walsh, Newfoundland actor and comedian. i love her. Well last week, me and the man where at hava java(a local coffee shop) and I looked up and saw this amazing woman in this amazing black hat and matching dress. It was Mary Walsh.

I turned to the man and was like, dude, was that mary walsh? He was like yeah. OMG, all my dreams have come true. I loved her in Mambo Italiano. And then, I saw her again. (the same day)

well all my dreams have almost come true, Stars on Ice is coming soon and its only $50 for rink side! also want to see Cire de solie. Then my dreams will be complete. And see U2 in concert.

I guess now I have a new dream, I want to start a nice lovely life with my man. He makes me very happy and I truly love him.

Every week me and the man try to get at least one day off together. So we can sleep in and cuddle, grab a coffee in the morning at hava java or coffee and company.

Today I met him after his night shift(ended at 7.45am) and we came back to

my place and took a nap together, after we woke(I woke at 11.30am and he rose at 1pm) we dressed and wandered off downtown. We ha

d lunch at the Shanghai resturant(shreaded pork for him, lemon chicken for me) and went up to the hardware shop where my lovely pine bishops bench is waiting for me.(I am slowly paying the balance off, its an handmade high back pine bench with under the seat storage and a lower shelf for $300. Its a local product, made in paridise, NL) and to visit Pam( a friend from college)

then it was off downtown again, we dropped by Sallys and I found this beautiful fur cropped jacket for 19.99. (The Man has now cut me off from all Vintage Shops till next month) and we walked the fog covered Water St to Hava Java(a local coffee haunt) but it was way too crowded for my liking, so we had tea and italian soda at Coffee & Co(my prefered coffee and godiva chocolate shop)

For tomorrow we plan on attending the organ concert at the local anglican cathedral, then

popping downstairs for some tea at the crypt(tea room)

well blogger has seemed to hate me the last few days and I have not been able to open my

michellegosse.blogspot.com account. So after tinkering with it for hours on end, I decided to make anew.

I am going to footnote my entries with my older site incase anyone wants to see previous entrys.

well there was only three.

can't help it, I'm a busy girl. Job, boyfriend, life.

So, in the upcoming weeks, expect to see some posts about my life in st John's. Vintage shopping(which me and the man have decided we can only do once a month, because I am adept at finding great clothes for cheap. Ie. the super cool orange haiwaian shirt we found at sally's for him. He found this uber cool mens black leather biker jacket that fitted me like a glove. So I had to have it, a black leather pencil skirt, this pleated wool skirt(I can convert into a dress) and on it goes at sallys.

So today I wore a white and blue circle skirt, with a red suede blazer(found at value village for $14) with my red high top sneaks(found at a closing out sale for $4.)

I am at the man's now(I was calling him the boy but he did not like that, so I changed it) Men huh?
We are having our daily date, ok if its a daily date you are asking? Why am I blogging, well we are bbqing for supper and while he tends to the bbq, I am using his pc.
